Another Successful Annual Membership Meeting!

Valley Vision’s 2012 Annual Membership Meeting was a great success, in no small part due to the great turnout of Valley Vision members and guests.  Tuesday evening’s meeting hosted about 70 guests; up from about 55 present at last year’s meeting.  Thank you to all of you who attended!

Guest speaker Matt Van Vleet of Clearwater Paper, Inc., spoke about a new plant going into Shelby, North Carolina and related his experiences with local economic development groups, state agencies and other governmental entities throughout the site selection process.  He stressed the importance of communication, rapid response times, confidentiality, and teamwork between all of those involved.   His message is very pertinent to what we can do here in the Lewis-Clark Valley to improve our own business attraction efforts.  Curtis Ostler of Alaska Air Group relayed some great information about Alaska’s operations in the Pacific Northwest and detailed the process through which the airline determines allocation of their aircraft to certain routes and schedules.
